“WE ARE BORN NOT JUST TO BECOME A FUTURE MARKETER; WE ARE BOUND TO CONQUER THE BUSINESS WORLD WITH UNITING OUR CREATIVE IDEAS AND USING IT AS A KEY TO SUCCESS”.

Pitfalls. Each of us experienced it right? None of us is born with a perfect life. Even the most successful person living here on earth experienced drawbacks too. But how do we manage to survive this kind of earthquake and downfall in our lives? Simple! It’s by making use of the words “ideas” and “unity”.

MARKETERS. Hey, that’s me! That’s you! That’s us! We are commonly defined as a person who promote or sell the product or service. But for us; as a future marketer, we are far more than that. We can do better than that, and that our world doesn’t only exist in that kind of definition. We like to dig deeper, analyze the situation, think outside the box, anticipate what will happen, understand the customers’ behavior, and find solutions to those problems, and do some risky things. There’s a lot of question in our minds like why did it happen, what was the root of this problem, what are the things that we must do to attain our goals, in what way can we present something simple into special, how can we leave a great impression to someone, and etc.

We are being pressured by this new generation where people are expecting us to be more creative, more future and customer oriented, that we can handle things effectively and efficiently. Those high expectations from the people around us create something in our mind that we should bring the best out of us and impress them. But the question for us is, how can we become united and stand as one nation and show them that we are far more than what they expect from us?

A quote from Alan Moore, V for Vendetta says that “behind this mask there is more than just flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea… and ideas are bulletproof”. It’s simple yet so meaningful right? Why do we site this quote? Read it again and again with all your heart and try to understand its meaning. It’s like saying that there’s this thing within us which makes us unique, excellent and different from others; that there’s always something behind everything. And behind this mask that we wear everyday hides the real talent; our genuine capacity. And that is our ideas. These big ideas we have are untouchable; intangible, and no one can have it except us who holds it because we owned it, we are the ones who created it. And this big idea is what sets us apart from other people.

Have you ever watch the animated movie entitled “the croods”? It talks about clueless people living in a cave and one thing that runs in their mind is surviving by doing harsh things without even using their brains. Even if they don’t make use of their ideas, they are united.  That’s why they’ve survive. But they can’t deny the fact that there’s something wrong. They still didn’t discover their hidden gifts. Then there’s this guy who has knowledge about everything. He came out of nowhere and taught those cave people. He makes use of his ideas to survive and help them. Remember that once you educated, you have this what we call “advantage”. People will look up to you. That’s what happens to this new guy. And one more thing! These cave people discovered this what we call “ideas” because of this guy and make use of it to survive. And viola! Who would have thought that they can reach the light that they are aiming for. There are only two formulas why did they survive. These are ideas and unity. They combined their ideas, thoughts and work together to aim their goal; to aim the success that they’ve been waiting for.

Before anything else, let us ask you a question. Can you imagine a marketer that is not creative, that is not thinking right? Let’s sight an example. You are a clueless, incompetent, or oblivious person just like those cave people. This means you lack knowledge in some ways. Not just knowledge but also courage and experience.  So how can you fill your mind with knowledge? How can you be more competitive? How can you step forward and go for the gold? How can you reach success? You can draw your own answer from base on these questions. But always remember, we can never gain success without striving hard and without stepping out of our comfort zone. We can never solve problems without analyzing, without using our ideas. If we don’t look and strive hard, if we don’t think well, if we don’t put our whole heart in doing our job, we can never obtain what we need or want. Just like those cave people in that movie. They are once afraid to learn and they find it hard to adjust, but they did try their best. We should be like them too. We should always remember that deep within us is a hidden library, and that library is our ideas. As a marketer, we have to explore; adapt to the changes, we should not always stick to one thing and we should open the possibilities and try to risk something. We should always put in our mind that learning is the best remedy and the road to success.

Why do we say this? What’s the connection of this stuff in making us marketers one or united? What’s the point of sighting this kind of thing? Why not make it straight to the point? The answer is very simple. We all end up in this course; by choice or even not; but we only have one purpose. And we already knew that. If we just share these great ideas of ours with one another, then we can have unity. We can combine our ideas and make a very creative masterpiece! We can gain our main goals in life if we just work and move together as a team. We will be united and stand as one if we help each other through this gift inside of us; our ideas and creativity. We can come up with a better solution if we combine those ideas we have and choose what is best. We want to emphasize that we are not just an ordinary human being; we are exceptional and divergent in some ways.

We have done different activities in school where we have showcased our talent and skills. It even tested our creativity, patience and unity. We have valued and managed the time effectively. We have imparted our knowledge with one another and end up in doing great things with combining our ideas. And it’s all a success. This is just a proof that we are really doing our best, not just in academic, but also in co – curricular activities; that we are capable of facing the real world that awaits us.

Remember that famous quote that says “no man is an island”? Yes, it is. We have different ambitions in life and somehow, some of us didn’t even expect that they will choose to be a marketer. We have different ambitions in life. This is a call for us. We are destined to be together in this path and surpass each and every challenge that we might face. We can never make it all by ourselves. Two is better than one, but more than two is much better. We all need each other. We need to unveil our ideas. These ideas of us, if we just converge it, surely we can have the victory that we’re aiming for.

Together we stand, divided we fall. Remember that there’s always a solution to every problem. So young marketers, let your vivid ideas be heard! Raise our flag and stand tall. Let us all be united and work hand in hand. We might experience failure, but it can never bring us down; this can never be a threat for us to stop trying. And always put in your mind that even the most successful business man in this world experienced failure and breakdown yet look at them now! Let us dream big, climb to the top and learn, learn, learn TOGETHER.
